Bogdana. Christening in Des Plaines

Sunday, November 27th, 2011

It is very rewarding when our clients return to us for capturing their treasured moments. After shooting Nadia and Dumitru’s engagement, wedding and maternity, as the Orthodox religion requires, the Christening of Bogdana was following.

It was a beautiful day, early November; the ceremony took place in the same church her parents were united in the holy matrimony – the Russian Orthodox church, Holy Virgin Protection.

Enjoy!

Remember this baby doll? Well, she’s a big girl now, and it is the time for Christening.

Christening, or baptism, is one of the most important events in a Christian’s life. And she is such a lucky baby girl, who has not two, but four god parents.

She received the mystery of communion with such a joy..

With her mommy..

and grandparents..

and daddy..

How lovely is to see three generations together?

Dana, Vili, grandparents, godparents and all other friends.. we hope you enjoyed this sneak preview.

David’s Christening

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

In Christianity, christening or baptism is the ritual act, with the use of water, by which a person is admitted to membership of the Church.

It is the second baptism after Lent, and despite a long ceremony, everything was charged with powerful emotions and happiness. The Baptism or Christening is a very important event in the Christian religion.

Baptism is immediately followed by chrismation and Holy Communion the next Liturgy, regardless of age.

Because the Sacrament of Baptism has genuine spiritual effect, certain criteria is required to fulfill to ensure its validity (ie to have really effect). Water baptism is one of these default rules.

Cornel Luca’s Christening

Monday, May 10th, 2010

Lent is over. Luca Cornel’s baptism marks the beginning of the summer event season.

It was a nice and warm May day. The event took place in Chicago Holly Nativity Church for the church and priest had a special significance forthe parents, Mirela and Cornel.

The ceremony was warm, made with grace and little Cornel-Luca received quiet the mystery of baptism. He actually was the first baby, that enjoyed so much the “bath”, I’ve ever seen.

We hope to repeat this experience at least one more baptism, if we give credence to the young parents of Luca.. they boast that they want a big family.

God help them!
